John Hooper

John Hooper is the President of Preferred Materials Asphalt Division. He is responsible for the asphalt and construction activities in Florida. Hooper joined CRH in 2000, through a 2006 acquisition. In 2004 he was promoted to Area Manager, overseeing asphalt and construction activities in the Winter Haven Area. In 2010 he was promoted to VP/GM Central Region (Lakeland, Orlando, and Melbourne). In 2018 he was promoted to Executive Vice President (EVP) for Preferred Materials Construction. Assumed his current role in March 2021.

Prior to CRH, Hooper held positions as Office Engineer and Field Engineer with Granite Construction Company, working on several large civil infrastructure and marine projects. Prior to that he held progressive positions with the United States Air Force.

Hooper holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida. He currently serves as a board member on the Board of Directors for the Florida Transportation Builders Association (FTBA).
