Shivakshi Gupta is a research associate at Prellis Biologics. Shivakshi works in the tissue engineering and regenerative medicines team, under the direction of Dr. Bhushan Mahadik. Shivakshi's responsibilities include creating experimental designs, performing experiments, coming up with innovative and creative solutions to the challenges, analyzing the results, reporting the findings, and maintaining the records as they move towards making the perfect in-vitro test model system.
Before joining Prellis Biologics, Shivakshi was the co-founder and vice president of Raksha Make A Difference, an NGO that educates underprivileged kids and rescues distressed stray animals. Shivakshi has been working for animal welfare since they were in school and got the organization registered as an NGO in 2018.
Shivakshi Gupta is currently enrolled at Cornell University, pursuing a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering. Gupta's studies are focused on Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicines, along with Business and Management. Gupta has taken courses such as Cell-Biomaterial Interactions, Ethical Issues & Professional Responsibilities, Biomechanics Laboratory, Biomedical Materials & Their Applications, Current Practices in Tissue Engineering, Project Management, Managerial Decision Making, and Entrepreneurship for Scientists and Engineers. Gupta has obtained a 3.80/4.00 CGPA with 4.07/4.00 GPA in their final semester. Gupta has also worked in Professor Butcher's Cardiovascular Developmental Bioengineering Laboratory, studying the role of matrix elasticity and viscosity on neo-vascularization using methacrylate gelatin (GelMA), a mechanically-tunable bioink, to establish a clinical alternative for autologous fat grafts used in post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.
Shivakshi Gupta is a research associate who works with a team of colleagues in various departments in order to complete their projects. These colleagues include Samyukta Bhat, Andrew Carolan, Lavina Mathur, Chinmayi Mishra, Matt Niemiec, Andrew Mcfarland, Michael Beauzieux, Lydia Hoo, Shivakshi Gupta, Shao Ning Pei, Tracy Lash, Khurram Hayat, Akanksha Singh, Tess Remick, Rebecca Winchenbaugh, Erin Stephens, Alyssa Deely, Randall Lowe, Kevin Chapman, Yelda Kaya, Risa Patterson, and Keelin Davis.
