Palaniappan Muthappan

Palaniappan Muthappan, MD, FACC has a diverse work experience in the field of cardiology. Palaniappan is currently serving as the Director of Structural Cardiology at Premier Health Partners, a position they have held since September 2022. In addition, they are also the Cardiac Catheterization Lab Director at Miami Valley Hospital, a role they have held since December 2020. Prior to their current positions, Dr. Muthappan worked as an Interventional Cardiologist at Premier Health Partners since May 2016.

Dr. Muthappan's academic experience includes serving as a Clinical Associate Professor at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine since June 2016.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Muthappan worked as an Interventional Cardiologist at St. Charles Health System from September 2014 to May 2016. Dr. Palaniappan Muthappan completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Philosophy and Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan, between 1998 and 2002. Palaniappan has also attended Shadyside Academy, although specific dates and details of this education are not provided. Dr. Muthappan holds various certifications including Board Certification in Comprehensive Echocardiography from the NATIONAL BOARD OF ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY INC (obtained in 2017), an RPVI certification from ARDMS (obtained in 2014), and certifications in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine (obtained in 2013). Additionally, they are a Testamur of the American Society of Echocardiography.
