Wilfredo Mercado

Wilfredo Mercado has extensive work experience in manufacturing, operations, and leadership roles. Wilfredo started their career at CooperVision as a Product & Process Development Engineer and later became a Process Improver. In 2014, they joined Edwards Lifesciences as a Staff Engineer and eventually became the Business Unit Manager for the Plastics BU. In 2017, Mercado moved to Prent Corporation as the Plant Manager and was later promoted to the role of Vice President of Manufacturing - Latin America, overseeing operations in Latin American countries. Additionally, they served as the Director and Board Member of the SouthWestern Industrial Organization of Puerto Rico.

Wilfredo Mercado holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermal Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications in various fields. These certifications include Professional Engineer - Thermal and Fluid Systems from NCEES, Advanced Design of Experiments from Advanced Systems Consultants, CAPA Lead and CAPA System Expert from Business Excellence Consulting, Inc. (PR and Spain Divisions), Certified Lean & Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from Six Sigma Solutions International, Extrusion Fundamentals & Troubleshooting from Rauwendaal Extrusion Engineering, ISO19011:2018 Certified Management System Auditor for ISO13485:2016 from SPC Asesoria Avanzada, Internal Auditor from Business Excellence Consulting, Inc. (PR and Spain Divisions), Measurement System Analysis from Advanced Systems Consultants, and Process Validation for Medical Devices from Business Excellence Consulting, Inc. (PR and Spain Divisions).
