James Lindberg has extensive experience in historic preservation and policy, currently serving as the Senior Policy Director and Vice President of Research and Policy at the National Trust for Historic Preservation since 1991. In this role, James directs the Research & Policy Lab and the ReUrbanism initiative, focusing on the impacts of climate change on heritage conservation. James has led significant preservation projects, such as the adaptive use of a former dude ranch in Rocky Mountain National Park and the green rehabilitation of a historic school in Denver. Additionally, James is a lecturer at the University of Colorado Denver, teaching courses on historic preservation theory and urban conservation. James holds a Master of Science degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor of Science degree in Growth & Structure of Cities from Haverford College.
