Andrew Griffin

Andrew Griffin has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Andrew is currently the Vice President of Chemistry at Pretzel Therapeutics since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Praxis Precision Medicines, Inc. for five years, where they held the position of Senior Director of Chemistry. From 2013 to 2016, Andrew worked at NEOMED-LABS as a Project Director, leading projects and providing medicinal chemistry expertise. Andrew also worked as the Business Development Director for North America at Elixir Software Ltd from 2013 to 2014. Andrew's earlier experience includes serving as the Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry at AstraZeneca from 1999 to 2012 and as a Research Scientist at MethylGene Inc. from 1997 to 1999.

Andrew Griffin's education history begins in 1981 when they attended Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School. Andrew completed their A-levels and O-levels at this institution and graduated in 1988. Andrew then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry at the University of Bath from 1988 to 1991. Following their undergraduate studies, Andrew enrolled at the University of Bristol, where they attained their PhD in Organic Synthesis under the mentorship of Professor Tim Gallagher. Andrew completed their doctoral studies from 1991 to 1994. Andrew's educational journey culminated with a postdoctoral position at the Universite de Montreal from 1995 to 1997, where they worked as a Postdoc under the guidance of Professor Steve Hanessian, specializing in Organic Synthesis.
