David Ehmann

David Ehmann has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. David currently holds the position of VP Biology at Pretzel Therapeutics, starting in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Takeda, where they held the role of Director from April 2019 to December 2022.

Before joining Takeda, David worked at Shire, where they were an Associate Director in the Discovery Biology and Translation Research department. In this role, they led projects related to preclinical pharmacology and translational studies for rare diseases, covering various areas such as neuromuscular, gastrointestinal, metabolic, and complement diseases. David'stenure at Shire lasted from September 2015 to April 2019.

David also gained experience at AstraZeneca, where they held multiple roles. David began as a Scientist, progressing to Senior Scientist, and eventually became a Principal Scientist I. David'stenure at AstraZeneca lasted from 2000 to 2011. In 2012, they returned to AstraZeneca as a Principal Scientist / Team Leader, holding this position until May 2015.

Prior to their industry career, David Ehmann was a Graduate Student at Harvard University from 1996 to 2000.

David Ehmann completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from William & Mary in 1996. David then pursued a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Harvard University, which they obtained in the year 2000. Prior to their college education, David attended North Salem High School.
