Michael James

Michael James has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and software development. Michael most recently worked as a Principal Security Engineer at Priceline since August 2022. Prior to that, they were a Principal DevOps Engineer at Vroom from November 2020 to August 2022. Michael also worked at Priceline.com for a significant period, starting as a Principal Cloud Engineer in March 2005 and continuing until November 2020. Michael gained experience as a Consultant at both Starwood Hotels & Resorts from November 2004 to March 2005 and at GE Corporate IT from February 2002 to November 2004, where they worked as a software developer, provided operational support, and served as a system architect. Michael's early work experience includes a role as a Senior Software Engineer at ixl.com from 1998 to 2001.

Michael James completed their education with a diverse academic background. Michael started their educational journey in 1989 at UC San Diego, where they pursued Physics without obtaining a degree. After that, they attended San Diego State University from 1991 to 1993 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Astronomy. Continuing their education at The University of Georgia from 1994 to 1998, Michael pursued two degrees simultaneously. Michael obtained a Master of Arts in Mathematical Sciences (MAMS) specializing in Computer Science, as well as a Master of Science (MS) in Physics. As for additional certifications, Michael obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA in January 2023.
