Catherine D. Alvarez-Smith

Catherine Alvarez has been Senior Vice President since November, 2011 after joining PriceSmart in January, 2004 as Vice President, International Controller responsible for the accounting and finance operations overseas. Prior to joining PriceSmart, Ms. Alvarez was a Director of Finance for Hershey International in Weston, FL from November 1998 to December 2003; and the Director of Finance for Fleming Foods, Miami, FL from October 1993 to November 1998. Ms. Alvarez started her career with The Price Company in 1978 until 1993 holding various accounting/finance positions including Assistant Treasurer, and Vice President-Finance of their subsidiary, Club Merchandising Inc. She graduated from San Diego State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
