German Retana possesses extensive experience in IT leadership and project management, currently serving as Vice President of IT Client Services at PriceSmart since February 2021. Previously, in roles such as Senior Director and Director of IT Products, German developed robust IT teams and drove strategic technology initiatives focused on merchandising and B2B sectors. As Chief Innovation Officer and External Advisor at ixpantia, German led data-driven innovation efforts across the US and Latin America. Academic experience includes faculty positions at INCAE Business School and Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in digital transformation and quantitative methods. German's educational background includes a PhD in IT Management from Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA with distinction from INCAE Business School, and a BS in Computer Engineering from Tecnológico de Costa Rica.
