Ray Bradford

Recording Secretary at Pride at Work

Ray Bradford is the current Recording Secretary at Pride at Work. Ray has held this position since January 2016. Prior to that, they were the Director of Programs, Entertainment Media at GLAAD from January 2016 to March 2017. In this role, they were responsible for the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of GLAAD's media advocacy and response work within the entertainment industry, including all entertainment projects of interest to the LGBT community, and relationships with entertainment and media professionals. Ray also authored major reports that generated media and industry interest, such as the annual "GLAAD Studio Responsibility Index" and “Where We Are on TV” diversity studies, as well as new research and reporting on the impact of domestic entertainment on international audiences, especially areas where the LGBT community is challenged by religious or societal policies.

From October 1999 to April 2012, Bradford served as National Director, Equal Employment Opportunities at AFTRA. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing AFTRA's equal employment opportunity policies and procedures. Ray also conducted investigations of complaints alleging discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age or disability.

Bradford is also an artist and advocate. Ray has owned and operated Ray Bradford Photography since 2013 and BradfordAdvocacyGroup since May 2013.

Ray Bradford began their educational career by studying acting at Illinois Wesleyan University, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.). Ray then went on to study drama and dramatics/theatre arts at Glenbard North High School, where they earned a degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, General.
