Melissa then pursued a Master's of Arts degree in Sociology at the University of Central Florida from 2008 to 2012. Melissa further continued their education by taking doctoral courses in Sociology at Georgia State University from 2012 to 2014.

In 2018, Melissa attended the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, where they earned a Certified Professional Coach degree in CORE Energy Coaching, Energy Leadership, and CORE.E Dynamics.
