Cassie is a customer-obsessed operator. She has strong conviction that if every business were maniacally focused on making its customers successful with its products (within its financial constraints, of course!), that no business would fail.
As Primary's Operating Partner focused on go-to-market strategy, Cassie partners closely with our founders and portfolio companies to help them build, scale and optimize their sales, marketing, and customer operations.
Before joining Primary in early 2020, Cassie was Chief Customer Officer for CM Group, an Insight-owned family of global marketing technology brands including Sailthru, Campaign Monitor, Delivra, Emma, Vuture and Liveclicker; Cassie assumed that role when CM Group acquired Sailthru in late 2018. In her post as Chief Customer Officer, she ran an end-to-end customer operations team of 200+ people around the globe while also working on general business strategy and M&A for CM Group's portfolio. Prior to the acquisition, she served as Sailthru's Chief Commercial Officer, where she led the company's transition into the enterprise market and was featured as #25 in The SaaS Report's "Top Women Leaders in SaaS" in 2018.
Cassie joined Sailthru from Gerson Lehrman Group where as VP Marketing & Analytics, she helped to lead GLG's intrapreneurship efforts. Prior to GLG, she served as VP Marketing for Savored (acquired by Groupon in 2012). Previously, Cassie was an early employee at TheLadders.com, where she spent several years managing marketing and analytics for the company's subscription business. She began her career as a technology and media analyst at Citigroup Global Corporate & Investment Bank.
Cassie graduated from Duke University and holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. She is also on the advisory board for Venture for America.
