Mike Newton is an experienced professional in the field of construction and building information modeling (BIM), currently serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Associate Principal at Prime Electric since August 2016. Previous roles include Director of Virtual Construction Services, BIM/Detailing Manager, and BIM Manager at various companies, demonstrating expertise in modeling process piping and mechanical systems, as well as 3D coordination and fabrication spool creation. A solid background in CAD detailing commenced in 2003 at Hansen Mechanical and continued with leadership roles that included project coordination on high-profile jobs. Mike has a Journeyman Sheet Metal degree from JATC, attained between 2005 and 2011, highlighting a strong foundation in sheet metal technology and sheetworking.
