Douglas Scott's work experience begins in 2014 as a Research Assistant in the T. H. Epps Research Group at the University of Delaware. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Technology Intern at W. L. Gore & Associates, conducting research on composite adhesion. In 2016, Douglas began their Ph.D. candidacy at Princeton University, where they focused on developing and applying scalable fabrication techniques for colloids with complex morphologies and encapsulating active ingredients. Douglas also conducted research as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in 2016. In 2021, Douglas was a Beauty R&D PhD Intern at Procter & Gamble. Currently, they hold the position of Scientist I at Prime Medicine, Inc.
Douglas Scott completed their education in Chemical Engineering, starting with their Honors Bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware, which they obtained between 2012 and 2016. Douglas then pursued further studies at Princeton University, where they enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Chemical Engineering. This program spanned from 2016 to 2021, leading Douglas to successfully achieve their Ph.D. degree.
