John Antonoglu is a licensed engineer and certified flood plain manager focused on serving Primera’s aviation and sustainability clients. With more than a decade of airport-specific experience, he likes the challenge these projects present because of the variety and complexity of airport infrastructure. “Most people look at an airport as a single location, but the airport and all its parts and pieces are more like a small city,” he explains. “What may seem like one project is really 100 projects of varying size and scope, involving any number of relevant stakeholders, all wrapped up in a singular location.” With nearly 20 years of experience under his belt, John has the expertise to manage complex projects. His principle areas of expertise include sustainable design, storm water management, water and wastewater treatment, and environmental engineering. Sustainable design and construction practices are a key focus on the majority of his projects.
John studied chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before earning his master’s in environmental engineering from the same institution. He spent the early part of his career focused on environmental engineering with an emphasis on water treatment and hazardous waste remediation. Throughout his career, he has served on both a technical and management level for major clients that include airports, municipal utilities, and private commercial, institutional, and residential developments. He worked for both small and very large firms before settling in at Primera more than 15 years ago. In that time, he’s taken his passion for both sustainability and aviation projects and built an aviation group dedicated to providing the clients with exceptional expertise with a focus on industry-leading customer service.
