Seth Hathaway

Head of School at Prince Avenue Christian School

Col Seth Hathaway is in his tenth year at Prince Avenue and seventh as head of school. Since joining Prince, he has shepherded several initiatives to advance the school: increased the number of faculty with advanced degrees to over sixty-three percent; employed the highest number of Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) “Master Teachers” of any of the 163 GISA affiliate schools in the state; implemented a 1:1 laptop program for grades PreK-12; expanded on-campus high school dual enrollment classes to over forty hours, and increased need-based financial aid by more than 275 percent making a Prince education a possibility for more families. His emphasis on visionary planning led to the creation of the school’s first strategic plan, PACS 2023, and the successful completion of a $3.7 million-dollar capital campaign to construct a new middle school building and acquire fourteen additional acres of land essential to PACS’ continued growth.

He is an accreditation chairman with both the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International and a former assistant head of school, high school principal, and advanced placement classroom teacher. Col Hathaway served over twenty years on active duty with the Marine Corps with a career concentration in education and training, and he and his wife of thirty-two years, Tracy, educated all three of their children in Christian schools.
