Kermit Witherbee

Geologist - Energy Minerals, Regulatory Analysis, Policy, Permitting at Principle

Kermit Witherbee is an experienced geologist specializing in energy minerals, regulatory analysis, and policy permitting. Since June 2016, Kermit has served as a Geologist at Principle, following a tenure as a Principal while self-employed since January 2015. Kermit's previous roles include Geothermal Energy Geologist/Analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory from January 2011 to December 2014, and National Geothermal Program Manager for the Bureau of Land Management from September 2005 to December 2010. Kermit's extensive experience encompasses leading geothermal programs, conducting geological assessments, and implementing energy policies, alongside instructing various programs in geothermal regulations in Africa. Educationally, Kermit holds a Master’s degree in Geology from SUNY Oneonta, obtained between 1973 and 1976.
