Thomas Virolle has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Thomas is currently working as a Senior Mooring and Cables Engineer at Principle Power since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Vryhof as a Project Engineer from May 2019 to September 2021, where they provided technical solutions in production, projects, and sales.
From March 2014 to April 2019, Thomas worked at Bureau Veritas as a Hydrodynamics and Mooring Engineer. Their responsibilities included hydrodynamic and mooring analysis, jetty mooring calculations, and geotechnical review. Thomas also gained field experience during the installation of the storm mooring system for the ARMADA LNG Mediterrana in Malta.
In 2013, Thomas interned at EOLE-RES, where they followed up on studies assessing the environmental impact of the Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm. Thomas also focused on the underwater noise impact assessment of an offshore wind farm for their MSc thesis.
Thomas gained further internship experience in 2012 at the Institute of Marine Research (IMR) in Norway and in 2010 at BRGM.
Thomas Virolle completed their education in several institutions. From 2012 to 2013, they attended Cranfield University, where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Offshore and Ocean Technology, with a specialization in the Offshore Renewable Energy Option. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2013, they studied at SeaTech Ecole d'ingénieurs, where they obtained an Engineering Degree in Marine Engineering. Additionally, in July 2019, Thomas acquired a certification in BOSIET (including HUET training) from RelyOn Nutec (Global).
