Jake Schafer

Jake Schafer began their work experience as an Assurance Intern at RSM US LLP in December 2016. Jake then served as a Tax Intern at EKS&H LLLP in June 2017. In 2018, they joined PwC as an Assurance Intern before progressing to the role of Experienced Assurance Associate, where they audited various areas and reviewed technical accounting memos. From 2019 to 2021, Schafer worked at PwC as a Deals Senior Associate, focusing on capital markets and accounting advisory services. During this time, they assisted in the uplift of financials and performed research on accounting literature. In 2021, they joined Shift as a Financial Reporting Senior, leading the adoption of ASC 842 and preparing forms 10-K and 10-Q. Currently, Schafer holds the position of Manager of Financial Reporting at Priority Power since March 2022.

Jake Schafer attended The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business from 2014 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance. After completing their undergraduate studies, Jake achieved additional certifications. In November 2020, they became a Certified Public Accountant through the AICPA. Additionally, in April 2020, they received the Elijah Watt Sells Award from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
