Infrastructure Engineer at Privia Health

Ian Buchanan started their work experience in 2009 as an Apple iOS Adviser at Stream Global Services, providing support for Apple customers. Ian then moved on to J-Curve Technologies in 2010, where they progressed from a Technical Support role to becoming a VoIP and Training Team Lead. During this time, they administered their internal knowledge base, created a new training manual, and conducted company-wide customer service training.

In 2013, Ian joined Unitedweb as a Nextiva VoIP Onboarding Technician, working directly with new business customers to provision VoIP services and resolve issues during deployments. Later that year, they transitioned to GoDaddy as a Sales and Service Specialist.

In 2014, Ian joined Concentrix as a Cisco TAC Content Security Engineer, supporting customers with the Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) and Security Management Appliance (SMA). Ian received recognition for consistently positive customer satisfaction surveys.

From 2015 to 2018, Ian worked at Cisco as a Cloud Security Technical Support Engineer, resolving customer issues with email deliverability, encryption, and authentication. Ian also served as the Team Lead for the Email Security Appliance TAC team.

From 2018 to 2021, Ian worked at Proofpoint, where they held the role of Professional Services - Email Fraud Defense. Ian supported enterprise customers during the implementation of email authentication protocols and successfully helped customers transition domains into DMARC enforcement.

Most recently, Ian joined Privia Health in 2022 as an Infrastructure Engineer.

Ian Buchanan has a diverse education history. In 2003, they attended the University of Washington, where they studied Economics and Computer Science until 2005. Recently, from 2021 to 2024, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at Western Governors University. Alongside their formal education, Ian has obtained several certifications, including CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA A+ from CompTIA in May 2022 and April 2022, respectively. Furthermore, they received the ITIL Foundation Level certification from ITIL 4 in June 2021.
