Eric Swardstrom

Eric Swardstrom has an extensive work experience spanning over a decade. Eric is currently employed at Privva, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer since January 2021. In this role, they are responsible for building software to automate vendor risk management using React, PostgreSQL, and Ruby on Rails.

Before joining Privva, Inc., Eric worked at Cohere Health as a Senior Software Engineer from May 2020 to December 2020. Here, they contributed to building a platform with evidence-based Care Paths to streamline prior authorizations using React, Mongo, and Grails on AWS.

From June 2015 to April 2020, Eric served as a Senior Fullstack Software Developer at par8o. Eric played a key role in enhancing a large RoR/Angular application for patient referrals. Eric collaborated with product managers and offshore QA teams and utilized tools like Pivotal Tracker, Slack, Semaphore, and GitHub in a continuous integration environment.

Between January 2016 and April 2019, Eric worked at McGraw-Hill Education as a Senior Software Engineer. Their primary responsibility involved developing a mission-critical student roster ingestion and integration platform using Angular, Express API servers, and AWS SQS message queue.

Prior to that, from July 2014 to June 2015, Eric served as a Senior Rails Developer at Yottaa, where they worked on the Boston portal and analytics team. Eric also collaborated with a team of developers based in Beijing.

From January 2014 to July 2014, Eric was a Senior Software Engineer at ActBlue Technical Services, where they supported a complex mission-critical contribution platform with nearly 10 million users and was a member of the core team.

In 2013, Eric worked at Root Foods as a Software Developer, where they played a crucial role in building a transparent food system, starting with an online platform for daily transactions between chefs and purveyors.

From 2009 to 2013, Eric worked at Dane Street as a Lead Software Engineer, and from 2009 to 2011, they were a Managing Partner at Agile IO. Eric also founded and served as the Product Manager at Placeforce, Inc. during the same period.

Throughout their career, Eric has showcased their expertise in full-stack development utilizing various programming languages and frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Angular, React, Mongo, Grails, and AWS.

Eric Swardstrom obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Management from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, completing their education between 1980 and 1984.
