Betty Soares has a comprehensive work experience in finance and accounting. Betty currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Proactive, where they have been since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Business Partner at Hive Advisory Inc. since 2021.

From 2018 to 2022, Betty held the role of Chief Financial Officer at Jade Power Trust, a company focused on clean energy generation. Betty was responsible for overseeing the development and generation of energy from renewable sources.

Before that, Betty worked at Finance Consulting & Advisory from 2017 to 2018 as an Executive Financial Consultant. Betty provided guidance to organizations in bridging the gap between finance and strategy and stimulated bottom-line growth.

Betty also served as the Chief Financial Officer at Spark Centre from the start of 2022 until October 2022. Additionally, they held the same role at Argo Gold in 2018, where they focused on gold exploration projects in Ontario.

Earlier in their career, Betty worked at Yamana Gold Inc. where they occupied several positions, including Vice President of Enterprise Financial Performance Management and Vice President of Corporate Controller & Chief Accounting Officer. During their time at Yamana Gold, they oversaw financial performance management, developed financial strategies, and established the finance function.

Betty began their career at DMCT, where they worked as an Accountant/Auditor from 2000 to 2004. Betty managed teams and provided a range of financial services to clients, including auditing, tax planning, and reporting.

Betty Soares has a diverse education history, with a focus on business administration and accounting. Betty obtained a BBA (Honours) degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. Betty is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). Betty has also completed additional programs offered by CPA Canada, including "The Optimal Negotiator & CEO Leadership Program" and "CFO, Leadership Program."

Currently, Betty is pursuing a Global MBA from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. Betty is also enrolled in the Global Executive MBA program at SDA Bocconi, which they are scheduled to complete in 2022.
