Mara Fernandez has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mara started their career as an Assistant Director of Public Relations at Globovisión in 2001, where they were responsible for planning and implementing PR strategies. Mara also supervised the production of various promotional materials and organized events.

In 2002, Mara joined PRODU as a Chief Transformational Officer. In this role, they worked closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to identify areas for transformation and developed strategies to achieve these changes. Mara led initiatives related to organizational design, process improvement, technology implementation, and cultural change. Their goal was to align transformational efforts with overall business goals and objectives.

During their time at PRODU, Mara also held the position of Associate Publisher | Trade Marketing & Sales Senior Director | US Hispanic & Latin America. Mara managed high-level relations with brands, agencies, and production companies for the development and execution of original/editorial content. Mara also oversaw B2B relations among festivals and events in the advertising industry.

In 2020, Mara became the Director General at FIAP - Festival Iberoamericano de la Publicidad. Their responsibilities included designing and executing the festival's media plan, connecting the industry, and promoting creative work. Mara also organized and produced content for FIAP's webinars, maintaining industry connections amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overall, Mara Fernandez has demonstrated expertise in PR, transformational leadership, and event organization throughout their career.

Mara Fernandez has a diverse education history. Mara obtained a Licentiate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela from 1997 to 2002. Later, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on General Business from Webber International University, attending from 2002 to 2003. Mara continued their education at Florida International University, where they completed a Masters in Mass Communication/Media Studies with a specialization in Global Strategic Communications from 2008 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Mara has also pursued further certifications. In 2013, they completed the Communication Course: Access to Power, Commitment: The Pathway to Create, and The Advanced Communication Course: The Power to Create from Landmark. More recently, in 2020, they obtained certifications in Introducción a la Publicidad Digital from Teads and Taller de Uso Efectivo de LinkedIn from MarketingAVC.
