Nick Vidal

Community Manager at Profian

Nick Vidal has an extensive work experience in the open source software industry. In 2021, they began working as a Community Manager for Profian. In 2023, they were appointed as the Outreach Committee Chair at the Confidential Computing Consortium, a project community at the Linux Foundation dedicated to defining and accelerating the adoption of Confidential Computing. From 2017 to 2018, they served as the Director of Development and Community at the Open Source Initiative (OSI), where they worked directly with the General Manager and Board of Directors. From 2013 to 2017, they were the Director of Americas at the Open Invention Network, where they reached out to executives from various organizations to share OIN's mission and values. Finally, since 2007 they have been a Community Leader in Latin America for the Drupal Project, helping promote its expansion in Latin America.

Nick Vidal began their education in 1991, when they attended West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School and graduated in 1994. Nick then attended the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where they earned a degree in Computer Engineering between 1998 and 2003. In 2001 and 2002, they were an exchange student at Grenoble INP - UGA under a CAPES Scholarship.
