David was the first Head of Ethics at the Financial Services Authority (now known as the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority) and introduced the industry’s Training and Competence regime, initiating an approach to regulation that underpinned Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and the Retail Distribution Review (RDR).
A pioneer and leader in regulation who has changed the regulatory and compliance landscape internationally, David Jackman was the first financial regulator to focus attention on corporate ethics, culture and maturity with new approaches that are now central to many jurisdictions. David was CEO of the Financial Services Skills Council, co-founder of the Securities Institute (now CISI), Visiting Professor and is a Fellow of Cambridge University Judge Business School. He is a non-executive director of a number of financial services firms. David is also the author of the national standards for Sustainable Development and UK lead for new International Standards for Sustainable Cities and Communities. He was a member of the Commission for the Sustainable London 2012 Olympics. David, who lives in the heart of the Lake District, lectures widely and is a regular contributor on TV, radio and in the press. He recently published The Compliance Revolution, and is currently working on Corporate Maturity due to be published later this year.
