Cristian Capdevila

Cristian Capdevila has extensive work experience in the field of data science. Cristian most recently worked as a Principal Data Scientist at Prognos since July 2017. Prior to that, they served as a Data Scientist at LiveIntent, Inc. from May 2016 to July 2017.

Before transitioning into data science, Capdevila worked at Cirruspath as a Data Scientist from May 2015 to April 2016. In this role, they focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and developed an email segmentation classifier with high accuracy. Cristian also worked on topic modeling and semantic similarity using LDA and word2vec.

As a Data Science Intern at PYA Analytics from August 2014 to May 2015, Capdevila worked on various machine learning projects, particularly in NLP. Furthermore, Capdevila had an internship with the Scientific Data Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2012. Cristian worked on an IO prefetching project for scientific computation applications.

To start their career, Capdevila worked at Dell as a Technical Sales Representative from March 2006 to July 2010. Cristian provided technical expertise to sales representatives during the design phase of customer deployments, focusing on storage arrays.

Cristian Capdevila obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where they studied from 2010 to 2013. Cristian continued their education at the same institution and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from 2013 to 2017.
