Henk Smit

Henk Smit is an experienced professional in the life sciences sector, currently serving as Director of Operations and Senior Consultant at Progress since February 2020. Prior roles include Director of Manufacturing at HALIX B.V., and Head of Process Development at uniQure, where Henk managed a 15-member process development team focusing on AAV-based products for clinical trials. Additional experience encompasses leadership roles at SynCo Bio Partners B.V. and Centocor, contributing to biopharmaceutical production processes and the development of monoclonal antibodies. Henk holds a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Amsterdam and a Master's Degree in Technological Design (BioProcess Engineering) from Delft University of Technology.
