Calum Laird

Calum Laird holds extensive experience in operations and health and safety within the rail and manufacturing sectors. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Operations Infrastructure at Progress Rail since March 2020, Calum previously held the position of Director of Operations for Progressrail UK Ltd, managing a £30 million railway and steel manufacturing business. Prior roles include Divisional EHS Manager at Balfour Beatty Rail and EHS Manager at Mowlem Plc, along with various safety advisory roles across multiple companies. Calum's career began in the mining industry, with significant positions at British Coal and the National Coal Board. Educational background includes studies at the University of Bath, Esk Valley College, and Kirkcaldy College.
