Remus Tumac

Remus Tumac is a skilled software engineer currently employed at Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company, since April 2020, where responsibilities include developing machine learning software for autopiloting freight trains and collaborating with engineers to ensure code integrity and efficiency. Previous roles at Progress Rail included Software Engineer I, where a C++ library was developed that significantly reduced simulation cycle time, and a real-time train simulator backend was created. Additional experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant at Southern Methodist University, where lab sessions were conducted for computer science courses, and internships at Toyota Connected North America, ORM Technologies, and Citi, focusing on software development and data processing. Remus holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University.
