Claire Ainsley

Claire Ainsley is an experienced political strategist and director, currently serving as the Director of the PPI project on Center-Left Renewal at the Progressive Policy Institute since January 2023. Ainsley is also an Advisory Board Member at the Centre for the Study of British Politics and British Political Life at Birkbeck, University of London, and a Trustee at Involve, with a term extending to July 2025. Ainsley has held significant roles, including Executive Director of Policy for the Labour Party from April 2020 to December 2022, and Executive Director at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation from December 2017 to April 2020, where Ainsley was also Interim Executive Director for a brief period in 2017. Ainsley's past positions include Senior Adviser at WPI Strategy and Building Back Britain Commission, Executive Committee Member at the Political Studies Association, and Director of Communications and External Affairs at JRF. Education includes an MSc in Global Politics from Birkbeck and a BA in Politics from the University of York.
