Stephen MacKenzie, BSc., MBA has over 20 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on HR leadership and management roles. Stephen is currently the Human Resources Director at Progressive Roofing, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Independent Consultant at HR Consulting from 2017 to 2022.
From 2019 to 2022, Stephen was the Human Resources Director at Legacy Air. Before that, they were the HR Director for Cement & Administration at Argos USA from 2015 to 2017. In this role, they managed two director portfolios responsible for all facets of HR for the Cement division and the HR Administration, Payroll, and Benefits Departments for all US operations.
Stephen also worked at Lafarge for several years in various HR roles. From 2013 to 2015, they were the HR Development Director, overseeing HR for multiple functional groups and operational staff. Stephen also implemented a succession planning process during their tenure. Prior to that, they served as an HR Manager for Special Projects, where they managed HR-related projects and led a team of HR interns. Additionally, Stephen was the Labor & Employee Relations Manager at Lafarge, where they provided labor relations leadership and conducted contract negotiations with multiple unions.
Earlier in their career, Stephen held positions as the Area HR Manager and Plant HR Manager at Lafarge, where they were responsible for all aspects of HR for manufacturing plants, sales teams, and distribution teams. Overall, Stephen's work experience demonstrates their strong leadership skills, expertise in HR strategy and operations, and their ability to drive organizational success through effective HR management.
Stephen MacKenzie, BSc., MBA has a Bachelor's of Science degree from Dalhousie University with a field of study in Biology, General. Stephen also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Dalhousie University, with a focus on Human Resources & IT.
