Thi K. Tran-Nguyen

Thi K. Tran-Nguyen, PhD has a diverse work experience starting from 2012. They have worked as a Research Intern at Dr. Watford Lab in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of Georgia in 2012 and 2013. During this time, they conducted research on the role of MAP3K8 in macrophage chemokine receptor expression during acute inflammation and presented their findings.

In 2014, Thi became a Graduate Assistant at The University of Alabama at Birmingham where they initiated, planned, and led independent projects related to autoimmune components in chronic lung diseases. They also presented their research at conferences and engaged in medical information exchange with key opinion leaders.

Thi then worked as a Circulation and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Assistant at Meem Library, St. John's College, from 2010 to 2014.

From 2017 to 2021, Thi worked as a Vietnamese Medical Interpreter at M&N Language Services, LLC.

In 2020, Thi joined the U-BRITE/COVID-19 Knowledge Curation Taskforce as a Knowledge Curator and Committee Chair.

In 2020, Thi also started working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hugh Kaul Precision Medicine Institute. In this role, they led precision medicine projects combining AI with patients' genetic data and medical records, facilitated collaboration between software developers and biomedical researchers, and analyzed RNA sequencing data for patients.

In 2021, Thi worked as a Bioinformatic Consultant at ImmunoLogix, LLC.

Thi then joined Medical Knowledge Group in 2022 as an Associate Medical Director. In this role, they developed scientific content for medical education programs across diverse therapeutic areas, reviewed and assessed content for scientific accuracy, and collaborated with clients and key opinion leaders for strategic planning and content development.

Currently, Thi works as an Associate Medical Director at ProHealth | An IPG Health Company. They develop a deep understanding of assigned products and therapeutic areas, review content developed by others, and interact with internal teams and clients to meet strategic objectives.

Thi K. Tran-Nguyen, PhD completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Immunology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Liberal Arts and Sciences from St. John's College in 2014. In 2009, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Foreign Trade University. Additionally, they have obtained multiple certifications, including a Clinical and Translational Science Training Program from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2021 and an IRB Training - Biomedical from CITI Program in 2021.
