Project 50 is a national political committee (PAC), which was formed in 2022 in anticipation of the U. S. Supreme Court overturning the 1973 Roe v Wade decision and the resulting vulnerability of abortion rights at a state level. Project 50 focuses solely on a state-based electoral strategy that will help create the political infrastructure in all 50 states to elect state legislators and elected officials who will support and expand abortion healthcare access. Project 50 invests in supporting or developing organizations within each state and providing them with resources to establish a sustainable process to identify pro-choice candidates, recruit and train them, help them win elections, and then, finally, hold them accountable on abortion rights legislation once they are in office.
