THE PROBLEM
Bright students from underprivileged backgrounds are severely underrepresented at the world’s top universities, because they face a number of barriers:

1. They're less likely to apply, because they are lacking role models to identify with, which often leads them to undermatch or never apply to selective schools

2. They're less likely to receive an offer - Lacking information and application feedback, they are disadvantaged in the admissions process

3. They're less likely to graduate - Lacking support, they struggle academically and socially even after admission

The Campus Operations Team at Project Access consists of dedicated managers and officers stationed at various universities such as LSE, London, Columbia, Warwick, and UCL. Their main responsibilities include coordinating campus-specific initiatives, providing personalized support to underprivileged students, organizing events and mentorship programs, and fostering a community that helps students navigate the complexities of applying to and thriving at top universities. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring that bright students receive the guidance and resources they need from application to graduation.

The Education and Mentorship Team at Project Access focuses on providing comprehensive guidance and support to underprivileged students aiming to apply for and succeed at top universities. This team organizes mentorship programs, matches mentees with suitable mentors, delivers educational bootcamps, and collaborates with partners to ensure students have the resources and support needed to overcome barriers in the application process and thrive academically and socially once admitted.

Education and Mentorship Team

The Leadership Team at Project Access is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the organization. This team comprises the Chief Mentorship Officer, who oversees mentorship programs and ensures quality guidance for students; the Chief Financial Officer, who manages financial sustainability and budget allocation for global operations; and the Global Director of Talent & Culture (Chief People Officer), who focuses on recruiting, retaining, and nurturing talented volunteers and team members, as well as fostering a positive and inclusive organizational culture. Together, they drive initiatives to break down barriers for underprivileged students aiming for top universities.
