Leanne Pittsford is the current advisor at Project Include and the founder and CEO of Lesbians Who Tech. Leanne has also served as the co-founder of Lean Impact and the CEO of Start Somewhere.
Pittsford has been working in the tech industry for over ten years. Leanne founded Lesbians Who Tech in 2012, in response to the lack of visible queer women in tech. Since then, the organization has grown to include 100,000 members worldwide, with 40+ city chapters. In addition to creating community, Lesbians Who Tech is committed to increasing visibility and inclusion in the tech sector. Their programs include a coding scholarship for non-binary and LGBTQ women, a mentoring program, Bring a Lesbian to Work Day, and a leadership development program called #LWTSQUAD.
Pittsford is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in tech. Leanne believes that everyone should have an opportunity to succeed in the industry, regardless of their background or identity.
Leanne Pittsford has a B.A. in Political Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and an M.A. in Education: Equity and Social Justice from San Francisco State University.
