Joshua Elliott

Joshua Elliott is an accomplished expert in the fields of science, technology, and innovation, currently serving as Chief Scientist at Renaissance Philanthropy since May 2024 and as VP of Innovation at Project InnerSpace and Fellow at the Federation of American Scientists since January 2024. Prior to these roles, Joshua held various leadership positions, including Co-Director of the Brains Program at Speculative Technologies and Program Director at Quadrature Climate Foundation. Notably, Joshua spent six years as a Program Manager at DARPA, overseeing approximately $600 million in federal R&D funding focused on artificial intelligence for scientific applications. An academic background includes serving as a Research Associate Professor at the University of Chicago Computation Institute, where focus areas included computational climate economics, and previously holding research roles at Praedictus Climate Solutions and Argonne National Laboratory. Joshua earned a PhD in Physics from McGill University and a BS in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin.
