Chapter Coordinator at Project Linus

Sharon Garvar serves as the Chapter Coordinator for the Santa Clarita Valley / Sylmar, Los Angeles County, CA chapter of Project Linus since February 2013, focusing on fundraising to support the chapter's operations. Additionally, Sharon has been a teacher at Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School since August 2001, instructing students in English 11 and Nonprofit Ventures - Project Linus, with a history of teaching various English courses and mythology. Prior teaching experience includes roles at Canyon High School within the William S. Hart Union High School District and Los Amigos High School in the Garden Grove Unified School District. Sharon holds a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Education with an emphasis on Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach.

Project Linus

Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission which is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”
