Benjamin Jones

Chief Conservation Officer & Co-founder at Project Seagrass

Benjamin Jones is an accomplished marine ecologist with extensive experience in research and conservation. Currently serving as a Research Affiliate at Florida International University since February 2023, Benjamin is also the Chief Conservation Officer and Co-Founder of Project Seagrass, an organization focused on educating communities about the significance of seagrass ecosystems. Previous roles include Doctoral Researcher at Stockholms universitet, Research Associate and Research Assistant at Cardiff University, and Hourly Paid Lecturer in Tropical Marine Ecology at the University of South Wales. Benjamin has a solid background in fieldwork, having worked on seagrass monitoring in Indonesia, fisheries assessments in Mozambique, and conducting scientific diving. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Marine Biology from Stockholm University and an MRes in Aquatic Ecology and Conservation from Swansea University.
