Khal Shariff

CEO at Project Whitecard

Khal Shariff is the CEO of Project Whitecard, a company that specializes in developing video games with a focus on education and empowerment. Prior to their work at Project Whitecard, Shariff was a Principal Investigator for Digital Badges at UC Irvine. In this role, they were responsible for the first game and the digital addition of evidence and criteria to the open badges standard. A badge, when awarded contains "baked" metadata that can follow the learner throughout their lives.

Shariff has also worked as an instructor at the University of Winnipeg, where they taught courses in digital media, web design, and the Unreal engine. Khal is currently working on expanding the Serious Games Certificate into an additional University Diploma.

Khal Shariff has a diploma in Internet Systems Specialist from The University of Winnipeg, a certification in Java2EE from Ryerson University, and high school/secondary diplomas and certificates from St. Paul's High School. Khal also has certifications from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Architecture and Systems Engineering: Models and Methods to Manage Complex Systems, MIT xPRO in Quantitative Methods in Systems Engineering, MIT xPRO in Models in Engineering, and MIT xPRO in Architecture of Complex Systems. Finally, they have a certification from Ryerson University in Java EE Solution Developer.
