Chris W.

Director Of Research Development at Proliant Biologicals

Chris W. has extensive work experience in the field of biological research and development. Chris started their career as a Technical Services Lab/Regulatory Coordinator at Quest International Flavors & Fragrances (now The Kerry Group) in 2001. Chris then joined Iowa State University in 2003 as a Graduate Research Assistant in Chemical & Biological Engineering, where they led a characterization and crystallization project on endoglucanases and managed multiple research projects involving structure-function relationships, enzyme kinetics, and protein stability.

Following their time at Iowa State University, Chris worked at The Scripps Research Institute from 2010 to 2013 as a Research Associate in the William Ja Lab, Department of Metabolism and Aging. In this role, they contributed to various projects involving the design and construction of molecular immunotoxins, as well as peptide synthesis, protein expression, and purification.

In 2013, Chris joined Proliant Health & Biologicals/Entera Health as a Senior Research Associate. Chris then moved up within the company to become a Scientist II in 2014, and later a Senior Scientist in 2018. In these roles, they played a key role in research and development activities related to biological products.

Most recently, Chris W. holds the position of Director of Research Development at Proliant Biologicals since February 2021. Their responsibilities in this role include overseeing research and development projects and providing strategic direction.

Overall, Chris W. has demonstrated a strong expertise in biological research, with a focus on molecular design, protein bio-conjugates, and assay development. Chris has also shown proficiency in managing research projects and leading interdisciplinary teams.

Chris W. attended the University of Iowa from 1996 to 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BSE) with Honors in Chemical and Biological Engineering. Following this, they attended Iowa State University from 2003 to 2010, where they obtained their PhD in Chemical Engineering.
