Chief Operating Officer at Proliant Biologicals

Christopher Detzel has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Christopher currently serves as the President/CEO at Proliant Health and Biologicals since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at the same company from December 2021 to April 2023.

Before joining Proliant Health and Biologicals, Detzel was associated with Entera Health from 2013 to 2021. Christopher held various positions there, including General Manager from January 2020 to December 2021, Director of Research and Development from April 2016 to January 2020, Senior Scientist from July 2014 to May 2016, and Scientist II from February 2013 to July 2014.

Detzel also worked at Proliant Biologicals from 2013 to 2021, where they served as the Director of Research Development from April 2016 to January 2020, Senior Scientist from July 2014 to May 2016, and Scientist II from February 2013 to July 2014.

Their work experience began with NanoSafe from 2011 to 2013, where they held the position of Research Scientist/Site Manager. At NanoSafe, their responsibilities included project management, grant writing, and providing nanotechnology environmental health and safety services.

Detzel started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Virginia Tech from 2009 to 2011. There, they developed and tested culture systems to assess hepatocyte phenotypic performance in vitro and conducted studies on the interaction of gold nanoparticles with liver cells using HPLC-MS techniques.

Christopher also worked as a Graduate Intern at Genzyme from September 2006 to February 2007, where they conducted preclinical biology research in the Cartilage Repair group, focusing on the efficacy of cartilage repair using different scaffolds for chondrocytes and mesenchymal stem cells.

Christopher Detzel completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Washington State University from 1999 to 2003. Christopher then pursued a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the same institution from 2003 to 2009. Recently, from 2019 to 2021, Christopher attended the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University, where they obtained an Executive MBA.
