Richard Hawthorn co-founded Instafreebie in 2007 and served as the Chief Technology Officer. In 2013, they founded Cambridge Hackspace, a makerspace in Somerville, MA, where they provided a 1200sqft workshop with various tools for makers to use. Richard also worked as a mentor for MassChallenge starting in July 2013. Prior to these ventures, they worked as an embedded software designer for Firesense from 2003 to 2008.
Richard Hawthorn attended Oxford Brookes University from 1999 to 2002, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Telecommunications.
