John A. Hangasky III

John A. Hangasky III has diverse work experience in scientific research and internships. John A. is currently working at Prolynx as a Senior Scientist II, a position they have held since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist from April 2021 to November 2021, and as a Scientist from August 2019 to April 2021, all at Prolynx.

Before joining Prolynx, John worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UC Berkeley, where they conducted biochemical studies on fungal and bacterial polysaccharide monooxygenases (PMOs) under the guidance of Michael A. Marletta, Ph.D. This position lasted from 2015 to 2019.

During their time at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2009 to 2014, John served as a Graduate Research Assistant under the supervision of Michael J. Knapp, Ph.D.

In 2009, John worked as an intern at the Connecticut Department of Public Safety for a three-month period.

In 2007, they gained research experience as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at the University of New Haven under the mentorship of Howard A. Harris, Ph.D.
