Ying Sophia Zhang

Ying Sophia Zhang, PhD, MSRC, currently serves as the Regulatory Affairs Lead at Promega Corporation since January 2023. Prior to this role, Zhang held the position of VP Global Regulatory Affairs at bioMérieux for a brief period in late 2022. Zhang’s extensive experience includes serving as Global Director of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs at Kerry from June 2017 to September 2022 and as Associate Director of Regulatory Affairs, Project Manager of R&D, and Sr. Scientist at Abbott from June 2008 to June 2017. Zhang began a career in scientific research as a Scientist at Northwestern University from July 2003 to May 2008. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Microbiology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Master’s Degree in Regulatory Compliance from Northwestern University, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, complemented by a BS in Bioengineering from Nankai University.
