John Jurica, MD, MPH, CPE, FAAPL has extensive experience in both clinical and nonclinical roles. In 2014, they partnered with other investors to open PromptMed Urgent Care in Waukegan, Illinois, where they served as Medical Director and Investor. Their responsibilities included oversight of all clinical activities, including patient care, protocol development, and collaboration with advanced practitioners. In 2017, they began hosting the Physician NonClinical Careers Podcast. In 2004, they worked as a Division Planner for CME Resource, Inc. In 2016, they began writing a blog for John Jurica MD LLC, initially focusing on employment contracting issues and later focusing on physician leadership and management. In 2010, they became a Member of the Kankakee County Board of Health. From 1999 to 2009, they were Senior VP and Chief Medical Officer and VP for Medical Affairs at Riverside Medical Center. Finally, from 2009 to present, they have served as a Clinical Associate Professor at Midwestern University. John was also a Founding Member and President of Premier Health Network from 1995 to when the plans were withdrawn from the Kankakee area.

John Jurica, MD, MPH, CPE, FAAPL has a long and distinguished educational history. John received their B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1977. John then went on to the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where they earned their M.D. in 1983. Afterward, they attended the Medical College of Wisconsin, where they obtained their M.P.H. in Public Health in 1993. In 2012, they became a Certified Physician Executive through the Certifying Commission in Medical Management. Finally, in 2021, they became a Fellow of the American Association for Physician Leadership through the American Association for Physician Leadership.
