Capt. Munaf Shaikh

Capt. Munaf Shaikh is the General Manager at Propel Marine. Capt. has over three decades of experience in the maritime industry, having worked as a Master Mariner, Marine Surveyor, and Consultant. Capt. has also worked as a Berth Liaison Officer (BLO) at ALCOA and KBB2 Terminals in Kwinana.

Capt. Shaikh has extensive experience in managing flag state inspections, oil cargo calculations, tank surveys, shore/ship out turns, and caustic shipments. Capt. is also experienced in conducting loading operations, stowage planning, hold fitness inspections, safety briefings, warping operations, and draft surveys. In addition, they have managed the Bauxite shipments from Amspec CR Cox operations end and finalized the load sequences in order to meet terminal requirements and maximize the cargo intake.

Capt. Shaikh has also undertaken hold inspections for carriage of Grain in line with Australian grain standards, as well as pre AMSA PSC inspections. Capt. has also conducted pre-purchase vessel inspections on behalf of clients intending to purchase used vessels. In addition, they have represented marine insurance/protection & indemnity interests on-board vessels and conducted on/off hire surveys.
