Sam Leichman

Sam ‘fell down the rabbit hole’ when he started working with Solana Labs in 2019. As the lead of Propeller’s crypto practice area, Sam provides strategic financial guidance to Propeller’s crypto and blockchain-related clients while also assisting them with the nuances of token accounting.

After starting his career in M&A investment banking, Sam worked at the modern furniture retailer Design Within Reach overseeing FP&A. Subsequently, Sam co-founded LivingPlug, a consumer hardware product. He served as Operations and Finance Lead, where he was instrumental in the company’s formation by spearheading its growth from concept to overseeing a Kickstarter campaign, from fundraising to launch, and from e-commerce to retail distribution.

Sam is inspired to work with smart and passionate colleagues while helping the team achieve its collective goals (both P&L and non-financial). To that end, he has always believed that the finance role should be a business partner as opposed to a scorekeeper.
