Seda Yilmaz-Elis

Seda Yilmaz-Elis has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Seda currently works at ProQR Therapeutics, where they hold the position of Director Discovery Research & Preclinical. Prior to this, they served as an Associate Director and Senior Scientist/Project lead at ProQR Therapeutics. Before joining ProQR Therapeutics, Seda worked as a Scientist at the same company.

Seda's earlier work experience includes a role as a PhD researcher at Leiden University Medical Centre, where they focused on identifying therapeutic targets and developing antisense oligonucleotide mediated exon skipping based therapies for arthritis. Seda has expertise in antisense oligonucleotide design and testing, in-vitro and in-vivo validation of AONs, and working with mouse models of arthritis. Seda also has experience with various laboratory techniques such as cloning, RT-PCR, qPCR, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, cell culture, RNA-DNA isolations, ELISA, and FACS.

Furthermore, Seda has worked as a Product Manager at Isse International Pharmaceuticals.

Seda Yilmaz-Elis obtained their BSc in Biology from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University in 2004. Seda later pursued an MSc in Biotechnology from the same university between 2004 and 2006. Seda furthered their education at Leiden University Medical Center, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Human/Medical Genetics from 2008 to 2013.
