Bonnie Swanson has had a long and varied career in technical writing and communications. Bonnie began their career in 1993 as a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T, where they researched, developed, and wrote customized new training programs from the ground up and delivered training as an instructor to AT&T's international joint ventures and technical support sites in multiple locations globally. In 1995, they moved to Motorola Semiconductor, later becoming ON Semiconductor, where they served as a Product Engineer and rescued a business relationship with a client after product failure, salvaged a foundering new product development project, and managed a small team of factory technicians to monitor and track line efficiency, WIP, inventory, and implement continuous yield improvement and cost reduction programs for several semiconductor sensor manufacturing lines. In 1998, they moved to Burr-Brown Corp., later acquired by Texas Instruments, where they served as a Technical Marketing Engineer, leading a cross-functional team, connecting development teams with marcomm and sales and developing marketing strategies and materials for new product releases. Bonnie also served on the select integration team, developing and implementing expedited transition strategies to facilitate smooth corporate assimilation. In the same year, they also began working as a Freelance Technical Writer, Curriculum Developer, and Editor, completing projects for IEEE/Wiley & Sons and Wisewire, Inc. In 2018, they moved to Sunquest Information Systems, where they served as a Senior Technical Writer and Team Leader and Project Manager for the tech pubs team, driving team initiatives in content strategy and modernization, SOP overhaul, and retooling. Bonnie wrote and edited user guides, installation guides, supporting documentation, release notes, and marketing collateral for multiple medical lab management software product development streams in an Agile/Scrum environment. In 2022, they moved to Proscia, where they currently serve as Technical Communications Manager.
Bonnie Swanson earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. Bonnie then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, with a focus in Business. Finally, they completed a BS in Physics from Drake University.
